nay, most teenagers are. which is why planned parenthood should not be giving out condoms at the parking lots at the Warped Tour.

should continue to provide contraception, sexual information, and the like. i agree with planned parenthood's general motivation, and i wholeheartedly support the idea of empowering people (including minors) to make their
own sexual decisions. however, i don't think most teens see a bowl of free condoms as a striking addition to their sexual liberation, and then go and make a serious decision. usually they think, "whoa, dude! free condoms! that means, like, i can have sex whenever i want and nothing, like,
happens! dude, i'm gonna go have sex with my girlfriend! awesome!"
planned parenthood, wake up! 90% of teenagers are incapable of independent thought! and you want to encourage their sexual autonomy?? it's quite naive of you to think teens as a whole are clear-headed. for the most part,
we're not. the teenager who just grabbed a Trojan from you is not going to be able to contemplate the emotional and relationship consequences of sex, and offering him or her what he or she sees as "get out of responsibility free" cards is
not going to help him or her make a good decision about their sexual life.
granted, I am able to distinguish the role of condoms in sexual life, what they do and do not guarantee, allow, and protect--but as i go to school with them daily, i can say with confidence that most teenagers, and
indeed probably most people in general, people cannot be believed to be capable.
so now, Planned Parenthood, I propose this: stop offering condoms everywhere except at your offices and in cafes, libraries, and Rufus Wainwright/Regina Spektor concerts-- this is where the teens capable of sexual choice are hanging out.
