I just read the comment left by clear day on my "tasty indeed" post. Wow.
Odwalla was my favourite company....Mango Tango smoothies and Soy Lattes with Echinacea...it was a tiny company started in the 80s by three artists, and was a small, almost anti-big corporation ensemble. They were really the epitome of responsible entrepreneurship and social concern; their drinks and foods were actually very healthty for you, and they were a joy to purchase, knowing I was putting my money into a small company with positive interests.
And they were bought by Coca-Cola, the corporate whore from hell. I mean, I knew they were in trouble when they started showing up in Starbucks, but I didn't know it was this bad. I just don't know what to think of our future as a society when one of the strongest, and last, symbols of anti-globalization living and consumption is destroyed, by a multinational globalizer no less.
Odwalla was so beautiful.
Coca-Cola is hideous. And I'm addicted to their Diet Coke beverage. I used to kick the habit by drink wholesome, good-for-you things like...Odwalla juices. Damn it all. My anti-corporate flame has successfully been reignited.
