I just got Oh Inverted World, an album by The Shins. It's thirty-three minutes of bliss...how I love The Shins. I got it at the mall with Sara; we're both out of school and it just made sense to go. I got these amazing coffee truffles from Lindt (OH MY GOD LINDT) Chocolates. I also got some great stuff at Bath and Body Works because they had their annual Big $5 sale...I just put all my stuff into a bag, and it's like a little bag o' Geoff; it's like a little travel bag with everything I'd need to survive for a short time in a non-home area. It's got a CD (the Shins), delicious vegan shampoo and conditioner (birthday gifts from Sara....travel size!), body wash, a Mango-Spearmint candle, a tshirt from Express, and a giant chocolate bar. Home in a bag!
I blew all my tip money, and fast. Easy come, easy go. I think it's really disgusting how much I buy.
I tell you, The Shins are great. I'm listening to them on my headphones; I think that music is best served via a personal player...it sounds better than from the PC speakers or a stereo. Furthermore, a CD player is infinitely preferable to an MP3 player; there's something magical about playing a beautiful album in the player, something you can't get from a digital list of songs that fits in your pocket. On that note, I've decided to get an iPod, or whatever the best player is, which is probably an iPod. I wanted a mini, but it doesn't hold enough. I figure it'll be much easier, but admittedly somewhat less cooler, than bringing a CD player, a case of CDs, and a pack of batteries on the plane to LA, to Paris, to anywhere, really. Plus, all my music in my pocket when desired is a sweet deal.
Anyway, I've got some shins to attend to.
before we take this ride and let it slide into the cracks where fall and winter collide, i surrender my gall in a song of modern love
