I've been in the kitchen for seven hours, taking a break only to go out to the grocery store to restock! Yay! I was cooking all of my food for Easter dinner; it's going to be like the big chicken dinner I used to have as a kid; mashed potatoes, stuffing, peas, and chicken, smothered in gravy, all with a giant glass of milk, veganized. Yum. So, today I made:
- Mashed Yukon Gold Potatoes with Dill - Vegetarian "Chicken" Gravy (AMAZING. just like the "real" stuff) - Cubed Stuffing with Chicken flavour added by me - Spicy Guacamole - Cheesy Red Pepper Spread - Homemade tortilla chips (fried tortillas in corn oil) - Chocolate Pecan Bourbon Pie (Complete with Jack Daniels...claims to be "better than sex," to which my mom replied "yeah, probably." XD)
I also bought some frozen green peas and chicken style seitan, which is a wheat-based product first made by Buddhist Monks about 1000 years ago. It tastes, looks, and feels just like meat :)
I felt so organic today lol. I had on a green hippy shirt and my bracelets, and I felt all earthy. And I was sporting a faux-hawkish hairdo, which was really cool. Looking good in the kitchen today, I was; you never know when the tofu might be checking you out =D
