I did a poster for my Fundamentals of Catholicism class. I feel like I am in the third grade again. This is the first time I've used a glue stick in years. The poster is about myself and my views on God...as an atheist...right...

Here's my poster, as I spent 10 minutes gluing pictures onto it and wasting my printer cartridge on this bizzare assignment, and now everyone had better look at it.

For those who are interested, here's an explanation, starting in the center and working clockwise...

The center is a galaxy, because everything centers around creation (at least in this project), and I believe the world was conceived through natural means. The top right hand corner is an artist's interpretation of the circle of life; I don't believe in life after death, but of course our life energy is reused and "reincarnated" as another person...fact of science. Hence the circle of life. The evolution of man picture signifies that we are animals in origin, which explains why we have "evil" urges sometimes to do things, and these urges must be balanced with other more refined goals. I have pictures of some of my favourite artwork and bands/theatre productions because music and the arts make up a big portion of my life. I have the no-meat sign, broccoli, and plate of food because I am a vegan who likes to cook, and the animal-rights ideals are a key part of my identity as a human being. I have a cup of coffee because I love coffee and love cooking/making things, and I have the black power fist, feminist symbol, GLBT triangle, and animal rights symbol because social justice is important to me and embodies "God" in my opinion. The ACLU picture is on there because they are an organization dedicated to protecting important civil liberties. The pictures of the seasons and of the hands holding symbolize the Divine to me because I see the divine in human actions and companionship, and also in nature and the seasons. The picture of the Chrysler Building is a representation of New York, my literal origin.

And there you have it. One silly project down, three serious ones to go...
