Got back from NY this morning, after an enlongated weekend stay at my grandparents' house. It was relatively boring, as there was not much to do at all, but I did get to drink some tea, watch a VH1 marathon, and talk to Christiana for an hour. Oh, and I went to my favourite Mass, the Easter Vigil. It's so blatantly pagan, it's hysterical; everything is the Catholic mass is pagan-based anyway, but the vigil mass doesn't even try to "Christianize" it. Take away the references to Jesus, and you've got an age-old coming-of-Spring fertile Earth ritual; from the "darkness to light" candle ceremony and the blessed bonfire to the sprinking of the crowd with water via a phallic symbol, the whole thing was practically screaming "Ostara! Ostara!" =D It was fun. Except for the fact that it was two hours long and involved nine long Scripture readings.
And now I am here, doing homework. Or rather, putting off my homework.
