I was watching some television this morning and I stumbled upon C-SPAN's reenactment of the Lincoln-Douglas debates in honour of President's Day. It was pretty cool, seeing as I do LD-Debate myself; I get why we call it that now. The original seven Lincoln v Douglas debates were very impassioned and inspired. None of the rehearsed, limited, censored crap we have today; it was pure debate. Anyway...yeah, I have no school today, like most kids across America. I started rearranging the furniture in my room on Saturday night because I was bored with it; it looked really good before, and it was all in the most optimal positions possible, but it was just too stagnant, so I moved it all. It looks pretty bad now. But it's different, so I'm ok with it =D I'm planning on redecorating my room; I plan to paint it, get new furniture (mostly IKEA, affordable and tasteful), and get some wall accessories as well...I'm not sure when that'll happen, but hopefully soon.
yummm...There's this Bath and Body Works hand lotion down here by the computer; I think it's my sister's...its Mango Mandarin scented. My hands were dry, so I tried some...sooooo amazing. I highly recommend you run out to your nearest Bath and Body Works store and pick up some...it's only $4.00. :D
I decided to wear a comfy sweater today seeing as it is snowy outside; strange enough, the fact that it is a golden beige-ish sweater along with that I have thin khaki courdoroys on makes me feel almost summery. Plus, my natural highlights are showing a lot this morning, something that usually only happens in, you guessed it, the summer. Hmm...maybe I'm in a time warp or something. (that made me think of the Rocky Horror Picture show, which in turn made me think of 5th grade with Mrs. Eliason...my train of thought is pretty random I guess.)
You can probably tell there isn't any one cohesive thing I have to talk about; hence the rambling paragraphs about seemingly random events that have occured throughout the day so far. Oh, here comes another one! It's a flashback! :P
I've been taking care of my neighbors' two cats and one beautiful Australian Shephard. I've been taking the dog out on walks at night, and the sky has been really really clear. I looked up and it took my breath away; the waxing gibbous was brilliantly white, and there were hundreds of stars...I could see Orion's belt over the Southern Horizon, and it took me back into my childhood. I remember being fascinated by the night sky; me and my dad used to go to the planetarium and the Franklin Institute for my birthday and such...I was quite the science/astronomy dork! (in a good way) I wonder what happened...anyway, looking at those stars really reconnected me to the night sky. I almost forgot how astounding it was.
Blah blah blah. I've got some homework to finish up for tomorrow. I think I'll call Chris afterward and see what she's doing.
