I'm reading 1984 in my Literature Class. It's astonishing how much the government in the novel reminds me of our current administration here in America. The Ingsoc Party's three pillar principles, War is Peace, Ignorance is Strength, Slavery is Freedom, are reminiscent of those of the GOP (War in Iraq, anyone?) And how about the telescreens and thoughtcrimes? P.A.T.R.I.O.T. Act section 216 ring a bell?

Look in the fourth and fifth rows of images for the posters I am speaking about. I already printed out the black and white Cheney, Bush, and Ashcroft ones, along with the "Go back to sleep" one and the "Big Brother is Watching" one. Oh so Orwellian =D
